Maple Grove residents can remember Sept. 11 with webinar

Christine Wittman, a Maple Grove resident who worked at the World Trade Center, joined Kristy Janigo for a webinar via Facebook Live Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. Wittman shared original photos, memories, and experiences from that day. Janigo, who left for Basic Combat Training Oct. 4, 2001, shared about her time in the North Dakota Army National Guard.

“We’re hoping that holding this space for conversation will keep those terrible events front of mind,” Janigo said. “We can never forget what we lost that fateful day, when so many of our fellow Americans perished in the twin towers. We must always honor the sacrifices of our first responders and military service members who answered the call to duty in the aftermath.”
